Results of the set of Descriptive statistics Conducted for Test-1.

Results of the set of Descriptive statistics Conducted for Test-1.

Research has been conducted on a random sample of 50 out of more than 120 graduate students to evaluate the effectiveness of foundation courses at James Wilson University (JWU). This brief Memo will provide results of one of the research variable, Test-1. Test-1 is a self evaluation test of MBA concepts prior to entering a graduate program.
The participants’ score obtained ranged over 22 points; the highest score was 100 and the lowest score was 78.  The mean (average) score was 87.38. Median for Test-1 was 88, indicating that half of the students scored less than 88 and the rest half students scored more than 88, and the mode- the most frequently occurred score on Test-1 was 89.
The interquartile range (the middle 50% of the group) ranged over 5 points; from 85 (the first quartile) to 90 (the third quartile). The standard deviation (the most common measure of dispersion or variability) of these scored was 4.66 score range from average of 87.38.
The measure of skewness was 0.09 indicating the skew was near to symmetric as it was very near to zero. The kurtosis came to 0.18, it indicate that it has a peak almost similar to a normal distribution. Coefficient of variation (ratio of standard deviation to the mean) was 5.34%.
